SUP Your Way to Self-Improvement

Sometimes you just get to the breaking point.

You’ve been banging away day in and day out. You’ve studied the right techniques, listened to the experts, you paid consultants for advice, and you still feel like you’re fighting an uphill battle.

Nothing seems to click. Every step forward gets you two steps back. At this point your friends and family think you’re crazy.

You can see it in their eyes; throw in the towel. Move on. Stop dreaming and accept your fate.

My breaking point happened last year on my birthday.

Life felt like a cosmic joke. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. Writing was still a labor of love. Single; living in a trailer in Southeastern Ohio. Burned out; Sixteen hour days in front of a computer and not getting any return on your investment will do that to you.

You’re too busy to notice how frustrated you are.

Then it hits you. Smack dab in the face. Chasing your dream stopped being fun a year ago. Work stress has invaded every part of your life.

Something needs to change. I hope you’re not as dense as me; that you handle stress well, and you take care of your mind, body and spirit.

I hope you don’t get to the point where you give up on your dream.

But, if you ever get to that point, I hope you do what I did. I hope you say… Screw It! I’m Going Paddling.

Georges and Lina were in a class of their own from the start.  Lina left the women, and most of the men, behind on her X 12 PRO catching good waves from the final buoy on every lap. Georges Cronsteadt looked like his normal self with his effortless stroke in the challenging conditions. Continue reading
